Did not need to fear where I went. 3 months in a country using holes in the ground without having to stress my bladder! I am telling you this is worth the money, the peace of mind and the trying to hold it to the next stop. I was in a country where squatting to pee is the norm, Freshette saved the day. It is a discreet and perfect traveling companion. After 1 week of using it, all my friends knew about the benefits of my new best friend. This product is a must-have for every female who travels, or who often finds herself without adequate bathroom facilities.

It was too bulky for what I was looking for, which was a sleek design to carry in my bag. The disposable bag was a ziplock basically. It was also twice as expensive as a comparable product that I found later on the internet. And I have returned it 2 weeks ago and have not been compensated for it.

My husband and I have really gotten into hiking, however I would always limit the duration of the hike because of the fear of having to go to the bathroom outdoors. Some of the trails we go to have alligators in the area, and I’m really too scared to wander too far into the brush. This product is the answer. I can finally pee standing up! LOL…what a concept.

I just got the product today and with great trepidation decided to give it a whirl. I stood over the toilet (clearly expecting to make a mess of the bathroom and my shorts), pulled the leg of my shorts off to the side, did the same thing with my underwear, put the Freshette in place and let loose! Didn’t spill a drop…amazing. I’m probably getting too detailed, but I know that I appreciate details when I’m reading reviews. If you wear a pantyliner wiping isn’t really necessary. I know this sounds gross, but if you’re out on a trail and your hot, sweaty and dirty…it doesn’t really matter. Rinse the Freshette with some water, wrap it in a papertowel and place it in a ziplock and clean it when you get home. I also think that if you wear loose, baggy shorts you can just pull them aside with the least hassle. I haven’t tried them with tighter pants/shorts yet, but I imagine that with some practice it will be just as easy. You can really urinate without showing any skin or having to squat in some unsightly fashion.

I’ve used these things for the past 20 years - hiking, whitewater canoeing, and biking. I even bought my drysuit with a men’s relief zipper in the front so I can wear men’s style long john pants, although it’s esp. handy when just wearing shorts in the summer. I have a small zippered bag that I store it in, along with a clean sandwich baggie (for after it’s used) and a small bottle of Purell. The Purell’s only needed on a two-pee trip!

Review date : 2008-09-18
I just went on a trip and didn’t need to use it. But knowing it was there let me venture out a bit further than I might have. I’ve tested it and it does seem to work. The tube is a separate piece if you were wondering like I was. So it does fit in my fanny pack for hiking. The "travel pouch" is only a zip-lock bag (about 8 1/4 x 4 3/8) with printing and diagrams on the outside so I need to find a better way to keep it private, store it damp and store it dry.

I go to a lot of music festivals, and used this tent for two years before I had any issues with it. It is easy to put up and take down, and it doesn’t take up a lot of space in the trunk. The screened vents are very nice when the weather is a bit too warm. However, I was asleep in this tent at a music festival when Hurricane Ike hit Arkansas. Water-proof my bum. Everything in my tent was completely soaked, including myself. But the only damage to the tent was a ripped pole guide, and I can sew that back on easily. So if you’re planning on going camping where the weather might turn violent, this is not the best tent. Otherwise, great product for the price. Just don’t go camping in hurricanes.

I picked up this tent, because I have been doing a lot of car camping lately with my lady friend and my old tent was a little cramped for both of us and various sundries. When I first set the tent up in my flat, I realized the thing IS HUGE! Setup was a snap and takedown just as easy. It has room for a king size inflatable with room to spare. We had a king size inflatable, day packs, cooler, and a couple smaller bags…and still had plenty of space left. It’s a great tent. For rthw price, I wasn’t really expecting it to be so nice. My only complaints are that it doesn’t compact very well. I can barely fit it in m pack and the second is that it’s heavy. Not recommended for any hike or walk in camping, but is fantastic for car camping or of you need a tent for multiple small kids.

This was a birthday gift for my 9 year old grandson. Well, the first one came with a hole in it but Amazon was great and sent me a free shipping label to send it back and shipped out a new one immediately. It came very quickly and in time for my grandson’s birthday. He absolutely loves it. It was easy to set up, they put a blow up mattress in it and it fit perfectly. He had friends over to sleep out in the backyard three nights in a row. They played games (by flashlight)told stories and had a blast. My daughter said it’s great for two adults but three would be a little tight, especially with the mattress but next year my son-in-law will take my grandson to the state park and it will be perfect for the two of them. It has been great fun and cost less than some electronic toy. Also better than those "kid" tents that are OK in the house but blow away outside.

Just came back from Grand Canyon.Tent was simply perfect.Easy set up ,best ventilation lots of space.LOVE IT!!!

Review date : 2008-07-18
I spent endless hours online looking for a good tent. This was my first time camping and I was not sure at all what type of tent to buy. There is simply too much to chose from. I was basically looking for a reasonably price 3 season tent with good rain protection. Eureka SUnrise had the best reviews and I decided to go with this one.

We went for 2 nights camping at Acadia National Park in Maine. I tried to put it together myself alone but it was too hard to do it. I had to ask a friend to help me out. WIth 2 persons it is very easy to put up. The feature i liked the best was the 4 windows. It was a bit hot during the day and the cross ventilation kept the tent inside cool. At night it got a bit cold so we zipped the windows and after that it was nice and cozy inside. It did not rain so can’t comment on that aspect. It was easy to fold it and took a lot less time. The poles are a little heavy so if you have the $$$ then I would suggest to go with light weight aluminum pole tent.

I gave this tent 4 stars because the tent description said that even a single person can put it up but I found it very hard to do it especially there is no way a single person can put the rainfly by himself. The tent is 7 foot hight at the center and the rainfly has to go over it. You have to put the rainfly on the ground flat first, put the poles in it and then lift it and put it on top of tent. It is a huge rainfly and if its windy it is almost impossible for a single person to do it.

Overall I am glad that I purchased this tent. However at I paid $210 for this tent and not it is selling for $174 :(. I would say it is a good deal.

We went through four different tents and this one was by far the best to set up and the space available for everyone is great! My daughter’s favorite part are the cup holders and shelves just her size.

Review date : 2007-12-29
We looked around at a number of family tents. We purchased one and found that it was extremely difficult to set up in even the most minimal amount of wind. My wife and I are both experienced campers and hikers so we were surprised when we couldn’t get the tent up properly. We even borrowed a friend’s family tent and proceeded to rip the base the first time we tried to stretch the tent out to stake it.

This tent is different. It is logical to put up. Once up it is spacious. The first time we put it up only took ten or fifteen minutes (include the time to yell at our 1 year old and 3 year old to get off it or we can’t put it up). Internally it has some nice storage features (lots of little pockets and places to store items). I never thought any of that kind of stuff was usefull or necessary until trying to find where the diaper cream went amongst all of the sleeping bags. The tent has nice features without appearing loaded with gimmicks.

And here is the real clincher - the sack that the tent comes in actually fits the tent. Not like you have to bring a hydraulic press to squeeze it in - it actually fits. What a relief after a long weekend of camping. I have never written a review before but was moved enough by the quality of this product.

The only downside I can think of - the stakes included are the cheezy plastic variety that don’t always work in all soil types. And there is not a waterproof assembly instruction printed on the bag (always a nice touch but not needed here since assembly is so logical). Also the way the rain fly goes on is a bit odd (attaching the cross poles to the fly and THEN sliding it over the top).

But the downsides so pale in comparison to the pluses. We are 100% satisfied so far!

Review date : 2007-09-29
We bought this tent to replace a similar Eureka tent that lasted more than 10 years. We love our new Eureka tent! We didn’t even use seam sealer, but it still stayed dry inside during rain on our recent camping trip.

The old tent had four main poles that connected to a center piece, and it was very easy to put up, even by one person. This new tent is just a little harder to put up because there are two very long main poles that arch across the top from corner to corner. We decided that the best process for putting it up was to first stake two corners on the same side of the tent. Then, with the tent flat, we put the two poles through the sleeves and attached them at the two staked corners. Next, the two of us each stood an an unstaked corner so we could simultaneously arch the two poles and fasten the other ends in place. Finally we staked down the third and fourth corner and the sides. Putting up the fly was a breeze.

The tent has a large window on each side, and the zippers worked smoothly! The cupholders and pockets are great, and there are little loops on the inside of seams so you can hang other stuff.

We seasonal camp, and my son likes to sleep in this tent by himself. Great little tent. It says up for 6 months. Looks as great as the day we put it up. great for the money.
