Creative Time Management ? Top 10 Ways To Put More Time Into Your Life!

If you want to decrease your overall stress levels and increase your spare time, you must forget what all the efficiency and time-management experts say about time management and what you should do to be more productive. The problem with classic time-management techniques is that you still end up working ten or twelve hours a day, possibly being a little more productive, but still feeling burnt out and with not much leisure time.

Instead, adopt the following ten time-management insights from various people that offer both inspiration and a lot of wisdom for creating more leisure time in your life:

?If you don’t have enough time to accomplish something, consider the work finished once it’s begun.

? John Gage

?Remember that nothing matters very much, and few things matter at all.

? Arthur Balfour

?When you are doing something difficult, tedious, or extremely time-consuming, ask yourself what would happen if you didn’t do it. If the answer is nothing, or next to nothing, stop doing it.

? From Real Success Without a Real Job

?One of the best ways of avoiding necessary and even urgent tasks is to seem busily employed on things that are already done.

? John Kennett Galbraith

?If you’re already in a hole, it’s no use to continue digging.

? Roy W. Walters

?Never do today what you can do as well tomorrow; because something may occur to make you regret your premature action.

? Aaron Burr

?The time to relax is when you don’t have time for it.

? Sydney J. Harris

?Choose one of these three ways to handle a task fast:

    1.Do it yourself.

2.Hire an expert to handle it for you.

3.Decide that it isn’t worth doing and strike it off your to-do list.

? From Real Success Without a Real Job

?Don’t overdo things that shouldn’t be done in the first place.

? Unknown wise person

?Doing a thing well is often a waste of time.

? Robert Byrne

?Learn to distinguish between these three:

1.Some things need doing better than you or anyone has ever done them before.

2.Some just need doing to get by.

3.Some are not necessary; they don’t need doing and are best left to the misfits of this world to pursue.

? From Real Success Without a Real Job

The moral of the above time-management wisdom is straightforward: You can experience more leisure time and a full, relaxed, satisfying, and happy life today instead of fifteen or twenty years down the road. Tens of millions of people in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and many other countries have such a life.

Contrary to popular belief, however, a lifestyle with plenty of free time is not based on being a multi-millionaire. A full, relaxed, satisfying, and happy life is achieved by simply choosing it even though the vast majority of Americans don’t.

Above all, forget about classic time-management techniques ? clearly, they don?t work.

Living With Memory Loss

Despite what you may have heard, memory loss is not an inevitable part of aging - in fact, it is possible to enjoy good long and short term memory at any stage of life. It’s just a matter of keeping your mind active and engaged. If, however, you do happen to find that things are slipping your mind more than they used to, here are some factors to consider.

How busy are you? If you are working yourself ragged, there may be little mental energy left over to deal with other tasks. The result is memory loss - or, at least, you may feel as though you are experiencing memory loss. In reality, you may just be overextending yourself. You might not be able to pay attention to detail if you simply have too many details to think about. Everybody’s mind needs - and deserves to get - a break now and again! To deal with this type of memory loss, try giving yourself a break. The human mind is very self-protective, and possibly you are ’spacing out’ because you have more than enough to do already!

If you’re convinced that your memory loss is due to something other than just simple overwork, however, there are other measures you can consider. For example, it is very helpful to have a regular routine, and a regular place to put things around the house. If you always put your keys in exactly the same place when you come home, there is little chance that you will lose them or forget where they are. If you always follow the same routine, it gets imprinted on your mind as time goes on. You are less likely to experience much memory loss if you are organized and have a regular routine. In fact, this is true for everyone, completely regardless of age! We all benefit from having an orderly, relatively clutter-free existence.

Reinforce your organization by writing notes and lists. Because writing involves a large muscle group, it helps ideas become fixed in your mind, minimizing memory loss. And then, of course, the notes or lists themselves are invaluable - they provide written records of your day, as well as being directives. Writing things down is the classic way to avoid memory loss, and it still works just as well as it ever did. Memory loss is not inevitable, regardless of what you may have heard. Many people enjoy excellent memory well into their seventies, eighties or nineties.

Start Living Today Your Journey To True Happiness

They say the longest journey begins with a single step. I must disagree. Before we take that first step we must summon reason and clarity to where our journey is to take us, and find the courage to leave our comfort zone in place of change. Many of us fear change, for it is the mystery of the unknown that has condemned many of us to a life of mediocrity and discontent. The journey must start from within one’s own heart and their desire must be driven by their faith that something better awaits them at the end of their journey and it is the journey itself that will bring them this new passion in their lives. From deep within their hearts to the longing in their souls is a wonderful place where our childhood dreams still dwell. It is in this wonderful state of being that we find our courage, our desire and our lust to live life.

A journey in life is not about running away from our problems. It is a statement of discontent and a conscious conviction that we deserve better and nothing can stop us from pursuing a better and significantly more rewarding life. We must believe that we were not put on this Earth to suffer and constantly struggle. We must believe that not only were we placed here to live an abundant life, but that we will not settle for anything less than complete happiness and peace. Finding a long lost zest for life and loving ourselves enough to believe that we deserve all the love and joy that life has been longing to give us.

We must rid ourselves of all negative thoughts, memories of our short fallings of the past, and any one or anything that may try to stand in our way and discourage us. Just as this is a new journey it becomes our only journey now. We leave the past behind and see everything leading up to this point as learning experiences and from our past we find a new appreciation of even the smallest of blessings on our new journey. Our gratitude fills our souls with new hope and our hearts begin to cherish each moment and every breath. We are alive again, and we’ve only just begun!

The journey begins with a dream of true freedom. We do not fear failure but we welcome this new adventure with open arms and a true belief in ourselves and the wonderful discoveries that await us. We no longer define our lives by our old roles as employees, husbands, wives, parents or any other label. We are individuals with our own dreams and perception of our lives and the life around us. Our relationship with ourselves is a separate yet co-existing journey with those around us. We are no longer controlled by our emotions, we are changing our perception of the world and of ourselves and as that process matures, our emotions are no longer dictated by events beyond our control. We learn to see the things in life that our truly important and let go of all negativity, even to the point of avoiding all negativity so as not to surrender our serenity and positive energy to it. Our journey will be filled with positive thoughts, attitudes, and a wonderful energy that will radiate for all to enjoy and many will benefit from. This is a beautiful gift and it’s yours for the taking.

Since we were children our thoughts and perceptions of the external world have programmed us into believing that the more toys we have the more successful we are. This pattern of thought grows with us and our standards as adults are ones that control our thoughts on how we see our selves. Many of us fall short of our confidence when we place our self worth and success on what we have physically acquired and where we are as far as our careers. We measure our success up against the success of others and we live angry discontented lives with low self-esteem and eventually surrender to the notion that this is my life and it’s never going to change for the better. We still perceive our success to be measured by how many toys we have; the car we drive, the house we live in, our job titles and so on.

The good news is that we can free our selves from the rules of the external world where people live their lives with the belief that it all comes down to the survival of the fittest. A person?s life is not measured by what they’ve accumulated, because material possessions can never guarantee peace or happiness to anyone and rarely will. To live a successful life it must be done from within ones self; a loving heart, a peaceful mind and service to others. When we can step back and take a look at our selves and who we are inside, far from the material matrix we’ve been trapped in our whole lives, then we can honestly and very clearly see what is really important in life and come to this beautiful peace that has lived within us from the beginning. Let go of the past and learn to focus on the blessings of today and the wonderful promises of tomorrow. May you find your true self and realize just how special you truly are. Your journey awaits, enjoy the ride.

Bad Things Happen To People I Don’t Like

There are people who have made me so mad, that I wish them bad luck . . . and worse. I envision all kinds of evil events befalling them. And every time I hear that bad things happen to these people I rejoice, but at the same time I feel like maybe I?m less of a civilized person. Now, I?ve found a release for my frustration, while still achieving revenge. That?s the best of both worlds.

I think it?s human nature that we seek revenge when we have been ill treated by people. Most of us think about it and dream about it, but do nothing. But, just those actions of imagining make us feel better . . . without exacting punishment.

When we do hear of bad things happening to those people, we feel better. In reality, our enemies, just like us have bad things and good things happening to us all the time. It?s just that we search out the bad news because it makes us feel better. Just wishing doesn?t really make it so, unfortunately. The bad news may make us feel better for a while, but it can leave a bad taste.

Even though we don?t actually make bad things happen, we always should try to do the right thing . . . like turning the other cheek and loving our enemy. I?ve never been able to do that.

Now, however there is a study that gives me hope. It makes me think that I can be that better person, and still deliver hurtful results.

In a study financed by the Templeton Foundation, Dr. Herbert Benson of Harvard Medical School and other scientists tested the effects of prayer for specific heart surgery patients. The prayers were for a successful surgery with a quick, healthy recovery and no complications.

?In the largest study of its kind, researchers found that having people pray for heart bypass surgery patients had no effect on their recovery. In fact, patients who knew they were being prayed for had a slightly higher rate of complications.?
? Associated Press Story - Study: Prayer doesn’t affect heart patients

What was interesting about the study was that one of the control groups received prayer and the individual patients were told they were being prayed for and those were the ones who did worse. They had the highest numbers of complications during recovery. The people praying were only told the initials of the patients, so they could not really pray for particular people with them directly in mind. Just think about the damage they could have done, if they had been able to associate names and faces. This produces all kinds of ?good works? and possibilities.

No longer will I have to wish bad things for people. I have an alternative. I think that I?m going to start praying for people I don?t like. It will no doubt make me a better person. Also, I?m going to send these people an anonymous postcard saying ?I know what you?re going through, and I?m praying for you.? I?m sure they will appreciate it.

Did not need to fear where I went. 3 months in a country using holes in the ground without having to stress my bladder! I am telling you this is worth the money, the peace of mind and the trying to hold it to the next stop. I was in a country where squatting to pee is the norm, Freshette saved the day. It is a discreet and perfect traveling companion. After 1 week of using it, all my friends knew about the benefits of my new best friend. This product is a must-have for every female who travels, or who often finds herself without adequate bathroom facilities.

Review date : 2009-01-07
It was too bulky for what I was looking for, which was a sleek design to carry in my bag. The disposable bag was a ziplock basically. It was also twice as expensive as a comparable product that I found later on the internet. And I have returned it 2 weeks ago and have not been compensated for it.

Review date : 2009-01-06
My husband and I have really gotten into hiking, however I would always limit the duration of the hike because of the fear of having to go to the bathroom outdoors. Some of the trails we go to have alligators in the area, and I’m really too scared to wander too far into the brush. This product is the answer. I can finally pee standing up! LOL…what a concept.

I just got the product today and with great trepidation decided to give it a whirl. I stood over the toilet (clearly expecting to make a mess of the bathroom and my shorts), pulled the leg of my shorts off to the side, did the same thing with my underwear, put the Freshette in place and let loose! Didn’t spill a drop…amazing. I’m probably getting too detailed, but I know that I appreciate details when I’m reading reviews. If you wear a pantyliner wiping isn’t really necessary. I know this sounds gross, but if you’re out on a trail and your hot, sweaty and dirty…it doesn’t really matter. Rinse the Freshette with some water, wrap it in a papertowel and place it in a ziplock and clean it when you get home. I also think that if you wear loose, baggy shorts you can just pull them aside with the least hassle. I haven’t tried them with tighter pants/shorts yet, but I imagine that with some practice it will be just as easy. You can really urinate without showing any skin or having to squat in some unsightly fashion.

Review date : 2008-12-01
I’ve used these things for the past 20 years - hiking, whitewater canoeing, and biking. I even bought my drysuit with a men’s relief zipper in the front so I can wear men’s style long john pants, although it’s esp. handy when just wearing shorts in the summer. I have a small zippered bag that I store it in, along with a clean sandwich baggie (for after it’s used) and a small bottle of Purell. The Purell’s only needed on a two-pee trip!

Review date : 2008-09-18
I just went on a trip and didn’t need to use it. But knowing it was there let me venture out a bit further than I might have. I’ve tested it and it does seem to work. The tube is a separate piece if you were wondering like I was. So it does fit in my fanny pack for hiking. The "travel pouch" is only a zip-lock bag (about 8 1/4 x 4 3/8) with printing and diagrams on the outside so I need to find a better way to keep it private, store it damp and store it dry.

Goal Setting Success Do You Have A Bad Map?

Suppose you are driving around Denver, Colorado looking for a certain address where you are supposed to be for a meeting at 8:00 AM, but you can?t find it. You got up early. You were excited. You were motivated. You were self-disciplined. You really wanted to reach your destination, your ?goal?. You don?t understand why you can?t get there because you have this incredibly detailed map. It is very accurate, it was developed with satellite photography, and has every building on it. No important detail is left out. But you can?t find where you want to go. You finally give up in frustration and go back home. You take the map in the house with you because you want to study it and figure out where you went wrong. As you are sitting at the kitchen table looking at the map, you notice down in the lower right-hand corner, it says ?Dallas, Texas?. What was the problem? You had the wrong map.

You were excited. You were motivated. You were self-disciplined. You really wanted to reach the goal, but you couldn?t. Would it have turned out differently if you had had the right map? Of course it would. Here is the good news: There is nothing wrong with you; you are just using some bad maps.

As we were growing up, most of us were taught WHAT to think, but most of us were never taught HOW to think. Why is that a problem? Consider this:

For every 100 Americans at age 65:
1 will be wealthy
4 will be financially independent
32 will be dead (they never learned how to take care of themselves ? or ignored it)
63 will be dead broke (hoping Social Security or their family will bail them out)

In other words, 95% of the people never figure it out! As you were growing up, your parents were the first ones that taught you how the world worked. Then your teachers were telling you how the world worked. Next your bosses on the job were telling you how the world worked. What are the odds that some of what you were taught and what you believe will get you ahead in the world - is wrong? Probably about 95%! We got a lot of bad information ? some bad maps, but if we believe that information is true, and behave as though it is true ? we will probably end up like the 95%! It is almost a certainty.

You need to discover which of your maps are bad and replace them with good ones. Some of your thinking needs to change before you can begin to achieve new goals! (Perhaps even 95% of your thinking needs to change.)

I don?t ever remember when I was growing up being taught HOW to think, only WHAT to think. But until we know HOW we think, there is no way to change WHAT we think and it is WHAT we think that keeps us stuck in our lives. The quality of our future will depend upon the quality of our thinking.
